Julie Rickman is a Partner in our Dunedin office supporting privately owned businesses, franchises and family businesses throughout the Otago and Southland region.
Julie has business expertise based on 30 years working in both the commercial sector as a corporate accountant and within chartered accountant firms. Prior to joining PwC Dunedin, Julie was the Managing partner of our Waikato office so has vast experience in business management and the challenges that come with it.
Hailing from the Waikato, Julie’s industry expertise has been formed through hands on experience in the rural sector, supporting both farmers and those businesses/ industry supporting this sector.
Julie’s time with McDonalds gave her first hand experience with the franchise model and taking projects from feasibility to operations; with an understanding of the implications and challenges for both the franchisee and franchisor.
With several years spent in financial controller roles, Julie has a thorough understanding of life within a corporate environment and what it is like to work with chartered accountants. It is her combined experience of working across different industries and within business that shapes Julie’s approach to her clients and working relationship with them.
Julie was a member of the Waikato Management School Advisory Board at the University of Waikato and was previously a member of the Accounting Standards Review Board, responsible for New Zealand’s financial reporting standards.
