Our corporate responsibility review for 2011
Welcome to our 2011 PwC corporate responsibility review. It’s my pleasure to share with you what we’ve been doing and achieving within our communities and for New Zealand.
While we pride ourselves on being New Zealand’s leading professional services firm, we are well aware we haven’t achieved this position by working in isolation. We’re successful as our people, communities and stakeholders have helped us grow our relationships and involvement.
As a firm, our strength lies with our people: their talent, passion and commitment to our clients and community are the key to making a difference and being successful.
As part of our promise to our communities, we’re committed to being contributing members of society. This is part of our firm’s DNA and well embedded within our culture. Our people champion and wholeheartedly embrace making a difference for New Zealand. We have a long history of giving back and feel a social and corporate responsibility to help the communities in which we live and work to prosper. We continuously challenge ourselves in raising the bar to ensure a growing role and contribution to New Zealand’s communities and businesses.
We are particularly proud in the way we rallied to help the Christchurch community following the devastating February earthquake. It’s also worth noting that the value of our pro-bono professional services to community organisations climbed to $1.3 million in the last financial year: showing a year on year increase. This is fantastic.
Enjoy reading the wonderful things we have achieved this past year and please share with us any other inspiring ideas for our firm to consider.
