Partner, PwC New Zealand
Across nearly 20 years as a partner at PwC, Colum has undertaken a variety of leadership roles for the firm. Colum is currently the Lead Partner for our AsiaPac ESG Virtual Centre of Excellence (VCoE). The VCoE covers 12 territories, helping to coordinate and grow the ESG service practice across the region.
Prior to ESG Colum focus was on transactions and led many of the largest and most complex mergers, acquisitions and capital market transactions in Aotearoa as well as building extensive experience in international transactions including in Japan, India, USA, Europe, Australia and China.
For a decade Colum also lead PwC New Zealand’s China Business Team supporting both Chinese businesses investing in New Zealand and New Zealand companies establishing or growing their operations in China. Colum has been involved with the New Zealand China Council since its inception, and has represented the Council as an investment specialist at the 2015 Partnership Forum in Beijing and as part of the New Zealand Prime Minister business delegation to China in 2016. He was a New Zealand Special Representative at the Belt and Road Forum for International Cooperation in Beijing in 2017. Colum is currently an Executive Committee Member of the Council.
Outside of work and spending time with his family, you might find Colum cheering on the Irish rugby team (a better experience in recent years) and the All Blacks (unless they play each other), or attempting to bring his golf skills on par with his enthusiasm for the sport.
