David is a Senior Deals Partner who works across both the Corporate Finance and Restructuring areas. With more than 30 years’ experience in corporate finance and financial advisory roles David relishes working with clients in different situations across a range of sectors. David’s experience and expertise enables him to provide his clients with an outstanding level of advice, insight and support.

David advises Boards and senior management of major corporate and public sector organisations on strategic and governance issues. He has carried out share and business valuations and has extensive transaction-related experience in New Zealand and offshore. David has authored more than 30 independent expert’s reports under the NZX Listing Rules and the Takeovers Code and worked extensively with a number of New Zealand’s major cooperatives in the retail and primary sectors.

In the restructuring area, David specialises in independent business appraisals and major restructuring roles through his strong relationships with major trading banks, other lenders and corporate trustees. David has undertaken a number of high profile formal appointments such as acting as Receiver of Pike River Coal, Reef Shipping and Mainzeal Group, as well as being the Administrator for several retailers such as Postie Plus.

Outside of work, David enjoys spending time with his partner, Julia and their combined family of five young adults who are either at university or in the early stages of their own careers. David enjoys a range of active pursuits, including marathon running, snow skiing and tramping. David and Julia are avid travellers and often combine this with their love of food and wine. David and Julia also have a home in Wanaka and spend as much time as they can in the beautiful Central Otago region.
