As a Partner based in our Christchurch office, Murray leads PwC’s Risk Assurance Services for the South Island. He also practices in the general commercial advisory arena assisting a number of clients.
Murray specialises in the Energy and Infrastructure, Agriculture, Irrigation, Local Government, Tertiary Education and Co-operative sectors. He has worked in over 17 countries, and prior to joining PwC worked for both Mobil Corporation and other professional services firms in New Zealand and internationally. His roles have predominantly had a governance, risk management, internal audit or transaction focus.
He has also spent a period of time as an investor having purchased, set-up and successfully exited businesses in the New Zealand retail sector. Murray has a a strong interest in business succession, and is a fellow of CAANZ and a current NZ/Australia Councillor.
Murray is a member of the Advisory Board of the Ara Institute of Canterbury Business School, and provides pro bono assistance to the Antarctic Heritage Trust. He has also given guest lectures at both the University of Canterbury and Ara.
