Tamati is passionate about improving the health and wellbeing of all New Zealanders, and in particular those that are vulnerable. He co-leads PwC’s Hauora (health and wellbeing) practice, and brings an equity lens to the pursuit of health outcomes for kiwis. He focuses on linking up services across the health and social services portfolio to help Māori and Pacific communities to improve social, financial and wellbeing outcomes. To enable this, Tamati works closely with both government and non-government organisations (NGOs).
Tamati brings significant experience delivering service transformation enabled by digital technologies, designing and implementing large scale business transformations.
As a proud Te Whānau-ā-Apanui man, Tamati returned to New Zealand to join PwC from EY Australia, where he led the Digital Health and Services Practice for Oceania. Prior to joining EY, Tamati held senior executive roles in the Australian Public Sector. His most recent public sector role was Chief Digital Officer at the Department of Human Services. Prior to that, he was the CEO of a primary care company and the Executive Director for Queensland Health.
