The transaction reflects Northpower’s commitment to strengthening its capabilities to support New Zealand’s evolving energy infrastructure, particularly in renewable energy generation and storage solutions.

As part of the engagement, PwC also provided financial and tax due diligence services.

“Supporting Northpower through this strategically significant acquisition is something we’re genuinely proud of,” says partner Simon Healy. “The transaction highlights our continued partnership with New Zealand’s leading energy and infrastructure businesses as they invest in the country’s renewable future.”

Connell Contractors brings deep expertise in delivering infrastructure projects including substations, wind and solar farms, hydroelectric dams, and hydrogen refuelling stations. The company will continue to operate independently under the leadership of CEO Lester Foxall as part of the Northpower Group.

The acquisition was completed on 31 October 2025.
