We have two types of scholarships to offer talented, driven students in New Zealand.
Apply for a scholarship and unlock more than financial support—gain mentoring, networks and real-world insights to help shape your future. It's your first step towards building a career with impact.
When you apply for the PwC or Mā te huruhuru ka rere te manu scholarships, selected scholars are offered several benefits so they can build their future forward. Each scholarship program provides:
$7,000 towards your tertiary studies (fees and course related costs) over the duration of your degree.
A PwC mentor for the duration of your tertiary studies (Mā te huruhuru ka rere te manu Scholarship recipients will be matched with a mentor from the Manukura Māori Business team).
An opportunity to apply for a paid summer internship with us.
Access to business networks at our social and scholarship events.
The opportunity to learn more about what we do behind the scenes at PwC.
To be eligible for the PwC or Mā te huruhuru ka rere te manu scholarship programs, applicants must be:
A New Zealand citizen or permanent resident.
A final year student at any secondary school in New Zealand.
Intending to study a degree that is relevant to a PwC business area.
If you are applying for the Mā te huruhuru ka rere te manu Scholarship, you must be affiliated to an iwi or hapu.
If you are applying for the PwC Scholarship, you must be experiencing financial and/or personal hardship.
All eligible applications are carefully reviewed, and successful applicants will be invited to an interview. Other applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application via email.
Transferring from one New Zealand tertiary institution to another will not affect your ongoing scholarship with PwC. However, you are required to inform us if you make a transfer.
If you apply for more than one grant or scholarship associated with your tertiary study, please let us know.
Generally, a PwC scholarship may not be accepted in conjunction with another corporate scholarship. A decision will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Before you support someone with their scholarship application, please check whether they meet the eligibility criteria (see Who is eligible tab).
Here are a few tips on how to support an applicant:
Proofread their CV
Encourage them to talk about their community involvement, extracurricular activities, leadership and teamwork experiences etc.
Help to reassure them if they’re not selected for a scholarship: it’s still a huge achievement that they applied and it’s great preparation for if they want to apply to us later (e.g. for our Summer Internship or Graduate Programme).
Make sure the applicant provides accurate and current contact details; if an applicant is struggling to provide this information then please contact us - nz_pwc_scholarship@pwc.com.
Our scholarships are only open to students completing their final year of high school, including Year 12 students.
PwC is a multi-sector firm, providing service in various industries, markets, and practices to accommodate our clients' needs. We welcome students who study beyond the areas accounting, finance, or business and we encourage you to take the time to find out where you might fit.
Yes, provided you meet our other eligibility criteria.
