Briar loves solving complex tax challenges. As businesses operate more globally, the landscape to be navigated is always changing. This includes the tax environment, and Briar is focused on understanding the developments and deciphering what it means for her clients, whilst ensuring that tax fits into the broader business context.
She enjoys working with clients, and by starting the conversation and bringing her global experience, Briar helps clients develop a game plan that is right for their business. She also uses her relevant local and global connections to help provide the right expertise at the right time.
Working across a wide spectrum of clients, Briar allows a broad range of businesses to make the most of a period of significant tax changes with her proven track record, relationship building qualities, and global tax experience and capability.
Briar joined the firm in July 2007, having completed a summer internship with PwC. After four years focusing on M&A tax, Briar was seconded to the New York office in 2011 where she specialised in international tax for US asset managers. Another four years later, Briar returned to New Zealand’s Auckland office, concentrating on global tax matters.
Briar is married with one daughter, and in her spare time enjoys walking, exploring new cities and discovering great coffee spots.
