David Urlich

David is PwC New Zealand’s Deals Leader and a Partner with more than 20 years of transaction and advisory experience across New Zealand and the United Kingdom.

He works with private equity investors, corporates and business owners on complex acquisitions, divestments and other significant transactions, helping clients understand the issues that matter most to value and decision-making. He has particular expertise in financial due diligence, advising clients on both buy-side and sell-side transactions.

David regularly works with experienced financial investors as well as businesses undertaking their first major transaction. He has advised across a broad range of sectors, including healthcare, technology and telecommunications, consumer and FMCG, industrials and manufacturing, energy and utilities, retail and primary industries.

As Deals Leader, David is responsible for PwC New Zealand’s broader Deals business, spanning M&A, transaction services, deals strategy, valuations, capital advisory, real estate and other specialist transaction disciplines. He has a strong interest in how data analytics, AI and technology are changing the way transactions are assessed - improving the speed and quality of analysis, providing earlier insight into opportunities and risks, and supporting a more forward-looking view of value.

David is a Chartered Accountant and is based in Auckland.
