Hayden Farrow

Partner, PwC New Zealand

Based in the Waikato, Hayden works with businesses that operate in a variety of sectors from construction and infrastructure to agriculture. He’s passionate about providing solutions that are unique to his client’s needs across these sectors, and this challenge is what fires him up each day.

Hayden is also somewhat unusual because he enjoys digging into interesting tax issues. He’s happy to poke fun at himself for his love of the Income Tax Act. This is how he likes to work. He enjoys the technical aspect of the job, but he believes that you need to have fun while doing it.

As leader of the Tax team in PwC’s Waikato office, Hayden provides tax services to clients of all shapes and sizes. Whether it’s getting into the detail or a high-level summary, Hayden focuses on adapting to the needs of his client, while ensuring they get the information they need to make an informed decision.

After completing his degree, Hayden initially worked at Inland Revenue as an investigator for five years. He then moved to the private sector, starting at Beattie Rickman, which later became the PwC Waikato office. Throughout that period he has specialised in tax, including working in the Auckland based M&A team.

Hayden believes life is about balance; work hard so that you can put your feet up, go to the gym so that you can eat cake, and focus on what is important.
