Yoonyoung (YY) Lee

YY is committed to helping people and businesses continuously improve, so that they can achieve strategic outcomes. She advocates good practice by recommending ways to optimise business processes and manage risks - both the upside (opportunities) and downside (threats). Her style is to simplify the complex, be conscious of the cost versus benefit of controls, and integrate global, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG), data and technology perspectives.

Utilising her risk and controls expertise, YY has worked with diverse industries including tertiary education, fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG), financial services, telecommunications, engineering and local government. She builds and sustains long lasting relationships by servicing with authenticity, objectivity and consistency.

YY drives the internal audit practice for PwC New Zealand and is the current Chair of the Institute of Internal Auditors New Zealand. With her belief that internal audit is synonymous with good business, she is passionate about modernising the perception and maturity of the profession.

Outside of work, YY is notorious for being a true ‘foodie’, with a passion for gastronomy.
