Some see the community as something separate to themselves. At PwC, we know that our community is all around us; everything we do affects it, and everything it does affects us, so we try and help as much as we can.
That's why we started the PwC Foundation in 2004 - as a way for us to focus our efforts on making a significant and long-lasting contribution to New Zealand society. The PwC Foundation enables our people to put their enthusiasm, generosity and enormous talent to work and support New Zealanders every day.
PwC staff members are paid to take two days of charity volunteer leave each year, if they wish to use it. Throughout the year, the PwC Foundation actively supports and funds a variety of causes.
Our main focus is on education and child welfare. We also support causes such as animal welfare, environmental protection and New Zealand’s world-renowned medical researchers.
Some of our recent and ongoing charity programmes include improving financial literacy in schools, providing lunches to children in poverty, skilled volunteering, delivering professional services to not-for-profit organisations and charities, and PwC’s scholarship programme.
Our staff are central to the way we help our community, but they're not alone. PwC uses matched giving to double charity collections. So whether you want to organise anything from a bake sale to a bike ride, you have support from us.
PwC's mission statement is "focus gives impact". Our whakatauki (Māori proverb) is "Naku te rourou nau te rourou ka ora ai te iwi", which translates to “with your basket and my basket the people will thrive”.
Together, we can make a bigger and more positive impact.
