Matthew Yates
Executive Director, PwC New Zealand
Matthew is a Director in our Canterbury office. He works with predominantly small to medium businesses helping them achieve their goals. Matthew has a broad range of skills including business advisory, debt and equity financing, valuations, financial modelling and transactions (buying and selling businesses).
He is recognised as a specialist in the irrigation sector and has helped a number of organisations to succeed in this space. In addition, Matthew has recently become a licensed sales person of the Real Estate Agents Authority (REAA) which supports his passion for business sales – an area he has been involved with throughout his long career at PwC in New Zealand and Australia.
Matthew is a member of the New Zealand Institute of Chartered Accountants and assists various organisations in a governance capacity including: Emergency Care Foundation, Ohoka Rugby Club and Swannanoa School.
Matthew gains great enjoyment from his property in North Canterbury and is often found acting as a DIY expert and taming the weeds in the garden and using his professional insight from the irrigation sector to keep the grass green. He has an active family and spends most weekends supporting them with their numerous sporting interests.
