Richard is a PwC New Zealand Board member and Managing Partner, Wellington Office.   

Richard is a Deals partner with over 30 years corporate finance and restructuring experience. Richard specialises in lead advisory M&A roles, valuations, financial modelling and providing a wide range of commercial advice to clients and their financiers. 

While working across a wide range of sectors, including technology, energy, primary, manufacturing and retail, a particular area of interest has been the wine industry where Richard leads PwC’s wine sector focus, having been engaged in a wide range of corporate finance, restructuring and strategy related assignments in the sector, including co-leading the Strategic Review of New Zealand Winegrowers in 2011 and 2018.  

Richard was formerly a trustee of the PwC Foundation. He has been instrumental in a range of fundraising events, including leading the PwC Foundation Charity Relay. To date relay events have raised c.$500,000 for Wellington charities. Richard was also the Chair of the Board of Trustees of Hutt International Boys’ School (until September 2022).
