Scott McLiver

Partner, PwC New Zealand

Private businesses are the backbone of New Zealand and working with the owners of these businesses is something Scott is extremely passionate about. Having an entrepreneurial streak himself, Scott loves the opportunity to be part of private business growth and development.

In today's fast changing and increasingly digital world Scott spends a far chunk of his time    helping businesses to “unlock the power of cloud technology”.

Scott leads our cloud strategy within PwC and passionately believes cloud accounting and broader cloud technology can be a significant enabler of stronger business performance of privately owned businesses.

As a partner in the Private Business team at PwC, Scott assists business owners to grow their business, manage risk and achieve success. His areas of expertise include cloud technology for SMEs, innovation and disruption, financial reporting, budgeting, cash-flow forecasting and business planning.

Scott has a strong interest in entrepreneurial ventures. In addition, Scott's personal experience as a small business owner brings a strong commercial perspective to all his work with clients.

Scott is also responsible for PwC's NZIFRS reporting solution, ValueFinancials, a PwC built software tool which assists companies and public sector organisations to produce their annual New Zealand IFRS financial statements in a more efficient and robust manner. ValueFinancials has been used by some of New Zealands most well know companies for over a decade to streamline their annual reporting process.

When Scott isn't at work, he and his wife Lisa are kept busy raising two young children and a labrador puppy. Scott is also keen sportsman and “sportswatcher”. He played representative touch rugby for 15 years but is now more likely to be found fishing or playing golf in his spare time.
