Taxes for individuals

Tax solutions tailored for individual business needs and challenges

Tax is as much a challenge and an opportunity for our individual and privately owned business clients as it is for our larger corporate, public sector and multi-national clients.

Our team has the experience and expertise to assist you with the tax issues that arise when:

  • you or your business moves to or from New Zealand
  • you expand or diversify your interests, or those of your business, in New Zealand or offshore
  • you need to develop, manage or alter your expatriate programme
  • you want to introduce, expand or amend an executive reward scheme or design / remodel your executive remuneration strategy.

Private wealth

We provide a range of services to individuals and private businesses owners looking at moving to or from New Zealand or at expanding or diversifying their interests in New Zealand or offshore.

Our team assists New Zealand residents investing offshore or looking at moving overseas and people from abroad looking at investing in, or migrating to, New Zealand.

For private business owners, our team provides advice on tax issues, valuation, succession planning and investment monitoring. We can help you to develop and implement strategy, evaluate investment opportunities, design and set up structures, understand and comply with your tax obligations and access our global network of advisers. If you are an inbound investor we will work with our overseas offices to ensure consistency in approach and a comprehensive level of service to you regardless of your location.

Our private wealth teams are led by:
  • Brendan Catchpole, who assists clients with their tax affairs and works with them on the challenges and opportunities that arise with planning for succession.
  • Louis McLennan, who provides strategic advice and helps clients evaluate investment opportunities. He also provides tax advice and services to migrants – both inbound and outbound.
