Claire and her team are passionate about solving their client’s legal issues in a pragmatic and easy to understand way to ensure a first rate customer experience.
Claire is an internationally-experienced and recognised corporate lawyer with more than 20 years experience, having worked in law firms in Christchurch, Sydney and London. She specialises in financial services, mergers and acquisitions and corporate contracts. Claire is leading the South Island presence of PwC Legal to create truly national legal services.
She has built a practice that is recognised for corporate advice in the Legal 500 Asia Pacific rankings and she was recognised as a Leading Individual for Investment Funds by Legal 500 in 2022 and 2023. She is particularly known for her expertise in capital raising, limited partnerships and investment funds.
Claire also provides advice on all aspects of corporate law ranging from mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance, directors duties, shareholder agreements, and general company law issues. She works with clients when they are establishing and restructuring corporate structures (including limited partnerships and unit trusts). Claire is well-known for her extensive knowledge of all aspects of franchising.
In addition to her legal work, Claire is an experienced independent director holding roles with Christchurch City Holdings and previously Canterbury Linen Services. She is a trustee for the Christchurch Symphony Orchestra.
Claire loves going skiing down South in the winter with her husband and children, and in summer, she is usually found on a lake driving the boat so the kids can waterski!
